Sing Buri –
Nearly 20,000 households in six districts of Sing Buri were swamped by floods on Tuesday, October 18th, after the water levels in the Chao Phraya River were gradually rising and causes overflowing.
The floodwater from Chao Phraya River had flooded residents’ homes and the main road of Kun Klong road in the province. Apart from Chao Phraya River, local residents also suffered from the overflow of Noi River which affected several large areas.
As of this morning, 17,825 households, 10 communities, and 22 sub-districts in six districts were reportedly affected by the floods. Some of the affected villagers temporarily set up a shelter by the roadside, some lived in relatives’ houses, some evacuated at temporary shelters provided by the provincial authorities, and some had to stay on the second floor of their flooded homes.
Singburi governor Supot Yossingkham led the provincial officers to visit the affected areas and give supplies and assistance to the flood victims while ordering the acceleration of the water drainage system as soon as possible.
